This is project 4, the point was color, surface and emotion.
All I knew about this when I was going in was that dark blue curl, that’s where I started this painting and then I just worked around adding paint where I thought it would work out well. It doesn’t mean anything, I kind of just went for it and wanted something that I liked the look of. I am planning on painting a warm tone companion piece. And it’s a diamond because.
This is my first painting from this semester, it’s vaguely a self portrait. It’s a self portrait made out of possessions, things I like and things I have.
This is some of my concept art for my digital art project, I think I know what I want her skin tone and hair to be but I’m bored with this for today.
Female bird-rider, her name is Talia, age should be about…early twenties.
The original turn around was done in pencil then everything was inked in separations so you can see all of the layers to the outfit.
The assignment was to do a high contrast figure, it was drawn in class but my blanks were fine tonight because I wanted to do ink and not charcoal or contei am passed about the splatters but I didn’t want to try drawing it over. I think I’ll try doing this small scale, high contrast work instead of greyscale our just lineart, we’ll see.
Stonehenge paper, ~40 minutes pencils, another 40 or so for inks. Ink is speedball india ink

My teacher loved this, to my great embarrassment. I was not expecting it in the least, other students came over and better understood the account after seeing this.
So, it’s finished.

This was more or less finished Thursday.
New WIP of my self portrait thing. This is about 7 hours in, or something, I’m tired so I’m leaving class now.
