This piece is honestly phenomenal. Here is his bio from his website. Seriously, if you’re in or near Norfolk Virginia between now and July 15 of this year, get to the Chrysler and see this show, it’s great.
i see pictures like this around a lot but i just realise how fucking insane they are
this is crazy
Hey look, something that doesn’t have to do with the hungry games.

Confessions of a Designer - Quotes from the world of design (by Anneke Short )
All of these.
Might I add two of my personal faves?
“What. Pay you for a simple illustration? Can’t you do that, like, in between your other drawings?”
- Fuck you?
“I have a friend who has a friend who knows someone who would do this for free, you know?”
- Then let that person do it for you because I definitely won’t.
I know all of these painfully well. :T Design work. Lulz.
The only change I’d make to these would be to remove that idiotic looking faux-crease thing. I understand it’s supposed to be a posted without that crinkle texture added, it doesn’t add to the comprehension of the design.
Dali.
This is pretty much why I work in a creative field.
I like to think the two don’t have to be mutually exclusive u_u

I’ve never been ‘closed’ for commissions, but here’s a reminder and a plea. I have no money in my checking account and that means I won’t really be able to eat much of anything for the next few weeks, I won’t be able to pay for gas and I have a power bill showing up around the corner that needs to be addressed. I have no money for anything really until my January financial aid comes through so, if you’d like to purchase a commission to help me that’d be awesome. If you reblog this as a signal boost, that’d be awesome too.
My work is 100% traditional on bristol, if you want your piece, I can mail it/them to you. Full color or full greyscale is possible, just tell me which you’d like. E-mail me at jasmine.pinales(at)gmail.com and I’ll give you my paypal information

Sometimes We All Feel Like Charlie
Someone in the YouTube comments for the “controversial” addition of a “NOOOOOOOO!” to Return of the Jedi said that George Lucas was just doing it for himself and that it’s a smart decision and that he’s an artist and he’s just fixing his work and making it better, and that’s what artists do.
And however much I agree that he can do whatever he wants - that is not what an artist does. An artist accepts their original creation for what it’s worth. If they don’t, they remake it. An artist does not grab their original piece of art - however flawed it may be - and say, “Well, I think I’m going to retweak a certain little bit every few years until I like it just enough. But I’m also going to rerelease it in a different format every single time I decide to tweak it.” That’s like having a painter walk into a museum that holds his art with a palette and paintbrush and editing his artwork however and whenever he pleases.
In summary: George Lucas is a giant dick.
Walt Whitman re-wrote and re-published his poem/book Leaves of Grass every few years until the day he died.
Paintings have been painted on top of and edited, sometimes if you see a really awkward cloth draped over someones body it’s because it’s a censor that was added some time after the original painting was done.
Man of Rembrandt’s paintings that we know of have been cut down from larger works because people of his time didn’t like them so he cut them in the hopes that he could sell it for a bit cheaper.

These are just a few, well, one specific example, of what Lucas is doing that people hate that has been done before.
Bob Ross’ quiet voice and gentle demeanor made him the perfect host for The Joy of Painting, but those traits might have kept him from being the perfect soldier. Before Ross became a TV painter, he spent 20 years in the United States Air Force and retired with the rank of master sergeant. In…
I know money’s super tight right now and I hate to ask, but I’m opening commissions for B+W sketches to help pay for bus/train tickets to Baltimore for Super Art Fight.
Feel free to pay whatever you want via PayPal at joehuntercomix(at)gmail(dot)com. I’ll draw most anything but please keep it PG-13?
Check it out his comic! It’s around the corner, help an artist out, if you can
*just sayin…
If you think about it though, they generally buy the wrong things, I ask for gift cards so I can buy my own awesome art supplies and what not.
It’s pretty windy sometimes.
