In Franchesca Ramsey’s viral video, “S- - - White Girls Say … to Black Girls,” the comedian dons a blonde wig and pokes fun at silly — and sometimes offensive — conversations among women. But some people say the video isn’t funny, just racist.
’S- - - White Girls Say’ Parody: Offensive Or Funny? <— Tell Me More host Michel Martin chatted with Ramsey today.

Please tell me why white people thinking something is racist gets national news coverage….but ACTUAL RACISM gets justified and swept under the rug and we’re told to get over it. Oh, okay.
White Privilege: when any inkling of offense deserves national press.

You know what, white women? If you are offended by anything in that video, it’s more than likely because you can recognize a little of yourself it in. In that case, you need to stop worrying about your poor little feelings, and start worrying about your words and actions, and how they are negatively affecting other people, particularly the people you have grossly offended by saying the ridiculously racist things in that video in the first place.

Lovely. Let’s just gloss over the underlying message of this video and focus instead on “making fun of white people: offensive? Your thoughts.”
It’s amazing that even when the point is *right in front of people’s faces*, they’ll still focus on everything else. And thus another discussion on race from the point of view of a POC is derailed into “White People and Their Feelings” hour. Cool.

About

Enjoy some stupid things I find interesting from tumbler and from the internet. Periodically I write things here, written things mostly end up on my blog so it's mostly images and what not. Enjoy your stay, I hope something here makes you smile, it usually makes me smile, and on the periodic occasion disgusts me so much it deserves to be shared.
